SOUTH OF THE CLOUDS
Beijing-Kunming-Dali-Lijiang-Shanghai-Suzhou 11 days/10 nights
with eventual extension to Sanya 4 nights
Day 1 BEIJING (D) 北京
Upon arrival in Beijing meet with local English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. Lunch not included. In the afternoon you can visit The Temple of Heaven 天坛, considered one of the most remarkable examples of the ancient Chinese architecture. Then you can stroll along Liulichang 琉璃厂the famous antiquarians, calligraphers and artists street. Banquet dinner to taste the traditional Beijing Roasted Duck.
Upon arrival in Beijing meet with local English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. Lunch not included. After breakfast, visit The Badaling Great Wall 八达岭长城, approximately 50 miles long, that is the most famous section of the Great Wall of China , the only place in the world visible from the moon. Lunch at a local Chinese restaurant.

Day 3 BEIJING-KUNMING (B, L) 北京/昆明
The whole day is dedicated to discover the heart of the city. The visit starts in Tian’an men Square 天安门广场, namely The Gate of Heavenly Peace，where there are The Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, The People’s Palace, The National Museum Monument to the People’s Heroes. Then visit The Forbidden City 故宫, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty. Lunch at local Chinese restaurant.
After lunch, transfer to the airport to take the flight to flight to Kunming. Upon arrival in Kunming, meet with the local English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. Dinner not included.

After breakfast meet with the local English speaking guide and visit The Stone Forest 石林, ( about 85 km far from Kunming). Lunch at local Chinese restaurant. After lunch, transfer to the airport and take the flight to Dali.

Day 5 DALI (B, L) 大理
After breakfast, meet with the local English speaking guide and visit Dali: Cangshan Mountain 苍山, Three Pagodas Temple 三塔寺, the symbol of Dali, once part of Chongwen Monastery which was destroyed during the Qing Dynasty.

Lunch in local Chinese restaurant. Then boat excursion on Erhai Lake 洱海 while tasting the special flavor of original “Sandao Tea” 三道茶. Go back to hotel. Dinner not included.
Day 6 DALI-LIJIANG (B, L) 大理-丽江
After breakfast, meet with the local English speaking guide and transfer to Bai Ethnic Village 白族村. Lunch at a local Chinese restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Lijiang.

After breakfast, meet with the local English speaking guide, and excursion to The Tiger Leaping Gorge 虎跳峡. Then, visit to The Black Dragon Lake 黑龙潭 .
Lunch at local Chinese restaurant. Free time at your disposal to visit The Old City 古城.

Day 8 LIJIANG - KUNMING/SHANGHAI (B, L) 丽江-昆明/上海
After breakfast, meet with the local English speaking guide, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Shanghai (stopover in Kunming).
Upon arrival in Shanghai meet with the local English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon, take a walk through Nanjing Road 京路 , commercial center of the city, full of shops and shopping malls, next to The Bund 外滩, the famous walk on The Huangpu river bank, and visit to Jingmao Tower 经贸大厦 where you can admire the Shanghai skyline.
Dinner not included. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 SHANGHAI-SUZHOU–SHANGHAI (B, L) 上海-苏州-上海
After breakfast, meet with the local English speaking guide and transfer to Suzhou.
City tour : visit The Humble Administrator’s Garden 拙政园, the largest and the most elegant garden in Suzhou; The Tiger Hill 虎丘, where the King of Wu and founder of the city of Suzhou was buried. Then have a boat ride on The Grand Canal 大运河游船 (about 1 hour). Stop at a local Chinese restaurant to have lunch. In the evening, go back to Shanghai.
